These terms are the agreement between you and us for the CalmSkin app. By downloading or using CalmSkin you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
CalmSkin is not medical care. It is a diary and an information aid for people living with chronic urticaria. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and nothing in it — including anything the AI assistant says — is medical advice or a substitute for a consultation with a qualified clinician. Never delay seeking care, and never start, stop or change a medication, because of something CalmSkin showed you.
In an emergency, call your local emergency number. If you have trouble breathing, swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, dizziness or faintness, treat it as an emergency — do not use this app.
1. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use CalmSkin on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code of the app, or remove any proprietary notice from it, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it. We and our licensors retain all rights in the app, its design and its content.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use CalmSkin, and you must have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. CalmSkin is not intended for children.
3. Your data and your responsibility for it
What you record in CalmSkin — check-ins, photos, medication, notes — belongs to you. It is stored on your device, not on our servers. That has an important consequence:
- Keeping a copy is your responsibility. If you delete the app, reset or lose your device, or use the “Delete everything” option, your log is gone and we cannot recover it. Use More → Data & privacy → Export all my data to keep your own copy, and keep your device backups current.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. Reports, scores and trends are calculated from your entries and are only as good as they are.
- Do not enter information about other people without their agreement.
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
4. The AI assistant
The assistant is an optional feature powered by third-party AI models. You should understand its limits before you rely on it:
- It produces general information, not a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation or a professional opinion. It has no access to your medical records and is not supervised by a clinician.
- It can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, including in ways that sound confident and plausible.
- An assessment of a photo is not a dermatological examination and cannot rule anything out.
- You choose what to send it. Do not send anything you would not want processed by a third-party AI provider, and do not send information about other people.
You must not use the assistant to seek instructions for self-harm, to obtain prescription medication outside proper medical care, to abuse or overload the service, or for anything unlawful. We may limit, suspend or withdraw the feature — including for individual users who misuse it — at any time.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use CalmSkin unlawfully or for anyone else’s data without their consent; interfere with, probe or attempt to circumvent the security of the app or our servers; use automated means to access our APIs; or use the app in any way that could damage, disable or impair the service.
6. Subscriptions, trials and cancellation
CalmSkin may offer optional paid features through an auto-renewing subscription. Where it does:
- The price, billing period and any free trial are shown in the app before you confirm, and payment is charged to your Apple ID account on confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You manage and cancel your subscription in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription to the same content.
- Purchases are made from, and refunds are handled by, Apple under the App Store Terms of Service. We cannot issue App Store refunds. Statutory withdrawal or refund rights you have under your local law are unaffected.
- Prices may change; we will tell you in advance and any change applies only from the following billing period.

7. Availability and changes
We may add, change or remove features, and we may suspend the app or its optional online features for maintenance or for any other reason. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update these terms; material changes will be made available in the app or on this page before they take effect, and continued use after that means you accept them.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CalmSkin is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, that scores or insights are clinically accurate, or that the assistant’s output is correct. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of this may not apply to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, loss of profits, or any health outcome arising from your use of — or reliance on — the app or its AI output. Our total liability arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — and if you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.
10. Termination
You may stop using CalmSkin at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms. Sections 3, 8, 9, 11 and 12 survive termination.
11. Apple
This agreement is between you and us, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for CalmSkin or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, regulatory or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
12. Governing law
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings there.
13. General
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about CalmSkin. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
